spread it aroundHello My name is Olga, I am a member of Occupy Rochester. Here at Occupy Rochester we are committed to joining the community together. A few weeks ago I hosted a teach-in seminar called: Steps Towards Self-Sufficiency: Intro to Natural Medicine & Herbalism It was a huge success. I personally invited many local healers, massage therapists, herbalists, reiki practitioners, musicians, artists, body workers, and naturalists to come and share their knowledge about alternatives to Western Medicine. This was a free and open to the public event. WE are planning another seminar, and I thought it would be appropriate inviting some other people and businesses involved in this field. I’m going to the message that i sent to everyone else….If you have questions, comments or concerns..please don’t hesitate to contact me. HELLO ALL! Olga here! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’m excited for what 2012 will bring, First and foremost! I wanted to say thank you for all of those who had participated in the first of a series of teach-ins and seminars. I really thought it was a success, and it proved the future potential of events like these. Our first Occupy Your Health (OYH) was a fine example when the grand community of individuals that live in the Rochester area join forces and share the knowledge, resources, experiences they have with one another. I was really pumped with the amount of people that showed, the diversity, and the response I received from everyone…most people thought it should happen again…..soooo…. IT IS! AND YOU ARE INVITED! This time around I want to get more people involved with the preliminary motions, lets get our ideas and plans together and make this event take off. Make the community aware that we are here and available to them. I want to know what everyone else wants to do. I want to hear your ambitions, concerns, doubts, positive and negative feedback. I just feel that if more of us come to together and plan something that we all feel good about and want to do…theres no doubt in my mind its going to be a really positive and enjoyable experience. Lets empower each other and make the next OYH rage! So this is my plan… Proposed Date: Saturday Jan 21, 2012 5-9 pm…. @ Dugan Center( this is confirmed yet but most likely) ….. What i want to do is is have 2 major meetings with anyone and everyone who attended and/or participated to meet up and discuss plans and ideas…. I’m thinking Tues Jan 10 & 17…. 1/10/2012 the initial meeting will be at 5:30 at the Universalists Church on S.Clinton Ave Downtown the others will be be tentative…. I’ll be letting everyone know about the initial meeting by not later than Saturday afternoon. Or a totally differnt date depending on what people think and who wants to participate Food will be provided PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK ABOUT THE PRELIMINARY MEET-UP DATE, TIME, PLACE, ANYTHING»> I want to have as many people be able to attend these prior meetings…lets work with each other and grow. Artists, musicians, thinkers, un-thinkers, radicals, nay-sayers, grandparents, kids, freaks, punks, lovers, hippies, nobodies, anybody is WELCOME TO JOIN & ATTEND For those who may not have attended the last seminar, I’m going to include the past event information that was posted about the event here. Ultimately, I want to help create an area where people can come together and teach each other about alternative methods of healing, medicine, treatment and therapies. Come one and come all! Find out, explore and literally try out the endless opportunities that are available to us. If anyone has QUESTIONS? CONCERNS? IDEAS? Ultimately these preliminary dates arent concrete in the endless amounts of time we can gather ad make this event happen….these are just ideas and suggestions Dont be shy!
